Daniel Peterson, whose family owns La Esmeralda, told reporters that "the coffee they produce has a combined taste of jasmine or and other floral aromas captivated and delighted the international judges, which led to the award. The pound coffee can mention trading as B /. 12.00 locally.
Peterson thanked Compete Panama, a program conducted jointly by the Ministry of Economy and Finance with financial support from the IDB and the producers themselves, allowing them to open up to international markets since last April were in Charlotte, United States, then visited New York and are prepared to participate in August when the International Convention for export specialty coffee, which they can open doors in the Asian market.
