General Information of Cerro La Vieja Eco Hotel & SpaPosada del Cerro La Vieja, previously known as Trinidad SPA, is a family-owned company which was born in 1992 from Mr. Alfonso Jaén’s vision of adapting the natural beauty of Cerro La Vieja to the environment conservation tendencies and to the demand for authentic and leisure tourism in areas of great natural attraction with abundant wildlife, while restocking the woodlands by reforesting native species and by approaching the farming villages.
Its natural beauty, its wooded paths and its commitment to the area’s neighbors, have turned it into a different destination where its guests, besides finding eco-adventure, rest, and relaxing SPA treatments, also have the opportunity to interact with the local villagers, who are happy to offer them their cuisine, organic agricultural activities, and production of fine crafts.

The hotel has 22 large and comfortable rooms. These rooms were designed with the objective of offering our guests the opportunity to relax by the picturesque natural richness that surrounds us. Suite: These are spacious rooms with a private terrace. They are equipped with air conditioning and a television set. They have all the requirements to host guests in wheelchairs. Premier: These rooms are characterized by a marvelous panoramic view of the mountains and the birds’ singing which can be enjoyed from a hammock in their private terrace. Rooms with 1 king size bed or with 2 double beds are available. Standard: Rooms with 2 double beds or 1 double bed and 1 twin bed. Villa Tavida
An extension of the hotel within a private reserve, its main attraction is the Tavida Cascade. One can find the authentic facilities of Villa Tavida after a 10 minute car ride or a 1 hour walk from the Hotel.
In Villa Tavida you will be able to enjoy the paths to the cascade well, a nap in the hammocks of the observatory-hut, a visit to the petroglyphs (rock carvings), harvesting organic vegetables from our private garden, and finally, resting in one of our spectacular Cabins with a panoramic view to the cascade while its sound lullabies you off to sleep. The cabins have 1 king size bed, a living room and complete kitchenette. They accommodate up to 4 people.

EXCURSIONS: Tavida Cascade and Petroglyphs $25.00/person (2 people minimum) Walking from La Posada, estimated length of time 4.5 hours, it includes local guiding service, petroglyphs visit, swimming in the Tavida waterfall, use of Villa Tavida facilities and mineral water. Cerro La Vieja Hiking $20.00/person (2 people minimum) Panoramic view of the area from the top of the hill. The estimated length of time is 2 and a half hours. It includes guiding services and mineral water. (This excursion may present certain difficulties for some, and so it is not recommended for older persons). Visit to the Organic Farm and Walk through the Community of Vaquilla $15.00/person. Estimated length of time is 4 hours. It includes guiding services and a boxed lunch. Cancellation PolicyEach reservation must be guaranteed by a credit card. Cancellations have to be made through email up to eight (8) days prior to confirmed arrival. Cancellations received less than eight (8) days prior to arrival or in case of a No Show on the confirmed arrival day the hotel will charge your credit card with up to 100% of the total reservation amount.
